Grown in the fields of Cornwall
Moor Baby Ethos
We are a UK based baby clothing company. We breed our own alpacas on the rolling hills of Bodmin Moor and produce high quality yarn from their fleeces. Our products are designed and named after each individual alpaca roaming our 10.5 acre site. Our knitwear reflects the environment and lifestyle we lead. We literally take our products from 'Field to fashion'
We are proud to have sourced and produced our beautiful items locally, and all in the UK. Our fleece is sent off to the mill and turned into beautifully made yarn which is naturally soft to the touch. We then send our yarn to our factory who produce the garments, which have been designed by Emma, our brand owner, on the farm in Cornwall. All our garments are hand finished on the farm in cornwall by Emma and her Mum Lynette.
Emma takes inspiration from the land around her and the natural environment she lives in, as well as the traditional Cornish culture. She has always strived to support local business, working to help small businesses get up and running along her journey. Emma works with local farmers specialising in alpacas, helping them set up and giving advice along the way. ' these garments are designed to be a garment for life, a heritage item that can be passed down the family. That's what I remember from my childhood and my mum making me knitted jumpers to wear.'
' I have made many wonderful friends along my journey and all of them are very different, we all have one thing in common and that is our love of alpacas.' Emma Collison
We are grateful to all the local businesses and people who have supported us through this new venture. We hope that in supporting British companies and small businesses ourselves, we can make this new brand 'Moor Baby' a truly British institution.
We are proud to have been a finalist for Rural Entrepreneur of the year.
